Traveling to India

In two weeks from today, I will be on my way to India. This is the trip I postponed when I unexpectedly contracted Covid 19 last month. I thought I would do some reflection on why I go, what keeps me coming back, what I look forward to and what things are not my favorites.

I travel to India because of the children. More accurately, I go because God has placed them on my heart. When I traveled there for the first time in 2008, I never thought more would come of it, but the call developed. "If I can help, why wouldn't I? This is something I can do to help others."

Next year Friends of Padhar Schools will celebrate our 10th anniversary as an official non-profit, raising and sending over $150,000 to support the rural schools we've partnered with. But really this project has been growing from those first seeds in 2008, over 16 years ago.
