Holy Week 2024 - Tuesday

"O sing to the Lord, a new song, for God has done marvelous things!" (Psalm 98:1)

To reflect on Holy Week this year, I've decided to seek out and find some new music (new for me) that tells the story of the last week of the earthly life of Jesus, while also giving us a message to take with us into our lives.

To be honest, this song is not new to me, nor is this version - Aretha's album called "Amazing Grace" is one of my favorites - but I have never seen this video before. And to see Aretha in 1972, singing in a local church in Los Angeles, with a full band and choir. What a revelation!

As we finish our Bible Study of the beatitudes today, this line hits differently:

"O what peace we often forfeit

O what needless pain we bear

All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer"

May we find peace in our souls today.
